Ultimate Blog Party 2008

Well, here it is...the Ultimate Blog Party!!!! I am soooooooo excited!!! I hope that you have found me through the party and that you will enjoy my blog!

As you can see, the party animals are already getting stuff ready and will be starting serving soon.

Here is one of them getting the final preparations done....humm I wonder what they are up to???

Ok, I think he has had a bit tooooooo much pre-party!!! Oh well......I guess that is why they call them party animals!!! :)

I would like to introduce myself...my name is Debi and I am mother to 5 teenagers!! They really keep my life busy and always interesting! They range in age from 17 - 13 and the oldest is graduating from high school this year!! 3 girls and 2 boys!! Once we get through the hormones and attitudes, they are really great kids!!!

I am married to a wonderful man who is in the Coast Guard. We have been married for 5 years and are still on our honeymoon! We totally love each other and are kinda mushy all the time. We are moving to Alexandria Virginia in about 3 months and looking forward to an adventure!

We also have 3 dogs and 2 cats. I drive a mini van and for the move will have 3 kids, 3 dogs and 2 cats in my van...I love an adventure!!! Moving cross county is always an exciting adventure. I will do my best to keep up the blog during the move.

I got o school part time to get my psychology/teaching degree. I would love to work with kids and teaching and counseling is the best way to do it. I also work part time at a fabric store and love it.

My hobbies are sewing, crafting, knitting and embroidery. I love to have a creative outlet and it is my therapy and my happy place.

The Blog Party is giving away some great prizes! I have picked a few that I would LOVE to win...

#39 - a $20 Gift Certificate from the Organized Knitting Club
#67 - a Blog Makeover from Shauna

Be sure to check them out as well! Even if you don't have a blog, YOU can win a prize for FREE!! Everyone loves something for FREE!! Be sure to go to the Blog Party page and follow their directions to get your prize. Speaking of prizes....I am giving away a prize on the prize page AND I am giving away a surprize to one of the readers of my blog this week during the party!! All you have to do to win my surprize is to leave a comment to this post and let me know what you think!! I love feedback!! Sounds easy, right??? Then, when the blog party is over, I will pick one of the comments and that person will get a really nice prize from me personally!!!! The prize here will be a Joann Fabrics Gift Card, $15.00. Think of all the cool things you can get with that!! :)

Please be sure to click on the link above to get back to the blog party and enjoy your partying. I would appreciate you leaving a comment to my blog and let me know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by and please stop by again so we can become better friends!!

Hugs,
Debi :)

Loved the pictures of the "party animals." Too funny! I too am a morning person and find myself shutting down right around supper time. I haven't really met anyone else like that before. Everyone I know is able to stay up past 8:30pm and doesn't understand the joys of being awake at 5am.

It was great reading through your party. I would love to be entered in your door prize drawing.

Those are some cute party animals! Good luck with your teaching degree - I just finished my Master's in Special Ed myself. :)

I have a 13yo myself. I can't imagine having as many teens as you! Of course I also have a toddler so when my oldest is a senior my youngest will just be starting kindergarten. So I have a whole different kind of craziness going on here!

I would love to win your door prize. I make infrequent attempts at being crafty. ;)

I'm in the Central Valley, but we get up north sometimes because I have family in Oakdale/Turlock area, Orangevale area, and Chico. We try to go at least once a year, but it's been a long time since we made the trip. I guess we're overdue for a long road trip with three boys under the age of 5. Sound like fun or what!? :)

All teenagers?!?! God bless you! You must be a saint!! LOL!

Debi, thanks so much for stopping by, this blog party event is amazing, I didn't join in this time, but I've had so much traffic because of it.

Well...it's always nice to meet a fellow knitter...isn't it the most relaxing art to do? I've noticed on your side bar that you have knitting blogs I haven't visited before, I'll be checking them out.

I just loved one of your sidebar buttons, the 'Knitting all day' one, can I grab that and place it on my sidebar? I truly do knit everyday...I wanted to ask permission first, I'm so new at all this blogging stuff. ;)

Enjoy your party and happy blogging...

i saw you are moving to alexandria! old town is lots of fun with tons of yummy restaurants! (chart house is delish and if you get a nice water view table, makes for a cozy, romantic night!)
good luck with your degree! i studied psychology as well, with hopes to go to graduate school for education and counseling...but i'm a procrastinator and my goal of "taking one year off" has turned into 5 years... go figure! :)

Thanks for coming to my party! I am the third of 5 kids, 3 girls 2 boys. I loved growing up in a big family. I love to sew, too, but I can't knit. I can crochet and I've tried to teach myself to knit, but it doesn't turn out very good. I hold the yarn too tight. I've heard that can be a problem for people who crochet.

Have a great party!

Good luck with your move. We moved cross country several years ago from Washington State to Va. We had two kids under the age of 2 and no pets.

I found your site through the blog party. We were a navy family who moved to northern Virginia in 1991 -- and have stayed ever since -- we really enjoy the area and hope you do too!

There's plenty of JoAnn Fabrics in the area so you'll be right at home ... G-Street fabrics is another local fabric store you'll just have to check out if you really love crafts/sewing.

Enjoy the party! Lorie

Hi, Debi!! We lived in Alexandria, VA for two years. We still live in the area, but moved from Alexandria when we purchased our first home one year ago. I LOVE Alexandria....my husband actually works there.

Where are you moving from?? When we first moved into the area (actually to MD when hubby was in the Army) we drove from CA!! However, it was only us and our cat. I was 5 months pregnant with our fist son!!

Hope to get to know you better. If you have any questions about Alexandria, I'll do my best to answer them!!

I'm partying my way through the blogosphere and I love your party photos! I'm amazed that you have 5 teenagers, I have twin boys and I'm cringing at the thought of managing them when they hit their teens! Hope you can stop on over at my party as well...

Hello from Alabama. My name is Mandy and I am mom to a 14 year old boy and almost 3 year old girl. Sorry, I haven't got a blog up and going yet, just lurking and seeing what it's all about. Don't like to feel as though I am spying on people though, so I pop in and let myself be seen. So HI! Nice to meet you.
Wow, so many teenagers! God Bless you for having the patience and strength to handle that. I am having a tough time with the 14 yo boy. I can't wait until my daughter becomes a teen. (can't you just hear the sarcasm there).

Wow! 5 teenagers! I don't envy you. Good luck with the move. I just drove half way across the country in the fall, but I was by myself, so it wasn't so much of a an adventure. I'm sure your drive will be.
