Twas a week before Chrismas

Hello again,

Well, it's a week before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse......

Yes, well that is not the only thing not stirring. My to do list has continued to grow and grow with each day. You would think, since I have been working on things since summer that my list would shrink, but no, it has not. Oh well.

We had a setback in our family this past week. My dh's mother passed away unexpedly and it was a shock for the whole family. It just won't be the same without her.

I pass my thanks to Barb for her help with teaching Chef Dad how to knit. With the events of the last week, it was really good of her to do this. Thanks Barb!

I have finished the sets for my 3 girls. They are each getting fingerless gloves (gauntlets), leg warmers and hats. Quite an accomplishment if I do say so myself. I will post pictures when the girls have opened the boxes and tried them on.

I knitted a scarf for a friend the other day, two shades of purple with cool fringe on each end! Way cool!! Hope she likes it!

Today is the office party for my dh. This yearly event is usually fun and the kids really enjoy it. I will be knitting again this year. Hummmm I think I see a trend starting!! I made a batch of peppermint bark this morning. It is for the party if I don't eat it all myself...one of my favs!

Well my family dinner will be on Christmas Eve this year, then I am planning on attending midnight mass. I have always loved mass at midnight but haven't gone in several years, I would really love to begin attending this year. I have much to be thankful for and pray for.

I have finished my Ethics class for the semmester. I took my final last week. I will hopefully get my grade this week. I am hoping for a B. I have only one class for next semmester. I am planning on moving in the summer so I need to get some money in the bank...so next semmester, I am taking modern History. I am looking forward to this class.

That is about it for now. Have a great week.

Hugs,
Debi :)

A week before Thanksgiving....

Hi again,

Well it's a few days before Thanksgiving and all through the house, not a creature was stiring not even a mouse, mainly because all my kitties love to play with the mice....

Well the fundraiser was a GREAT success!! I sold 19 out of 24 bags and was able to give the school about 50.00!!!! Not too bad! Then I went and did a show at a local hall and didn't do as well. Oh well. This is the last show I am planning for a bit. I have a few other things to work on.

I finally got to start my holiday shopping yesterday! I love this time of year...you just can't be in a bad mood with Christmas! It is too much fun!

My knitting projects are moving right along. I am down to 3 sets done and 3 sets to go...making progress!! Progress is good!!

We found out last week that there is a fairly good chance that our family will be moving soon due to my dh's relocation of job! Hummm back to the East Coast?? OH well...it can always be worse!!

Well, must get moving. Laundry to do, kids to get, work to do...so until next time.

Hi again,

Well I have been busy working on several projects. I have decided that I am going to knit gifts for all my girls, 3 daughters and 3 neices. Do you think I would just pick a scarf or two??? Heck NO!!! I have decided to make 6, yes 6 sets of of hats, leg warmers and fingerless gloves (gauntlets). One set per girl!! I have several bags of yarn for the projects and now just need the time to do them all. I have almost finished two complete sets...hummm better get my fingers busy...

Another project I have been involved in is through one of my favorite web sites, Artistic Threadworks.com. We have been working since August on making stockings for the troops overseas in Iraq. To this date, our online group has contributed over 2000 stockings!! Whew...that is alot of sewing across the country!! They were all sent to a group in Illinois who are stuffing and sending them overseas to our deserving service people.

The next project I am still involved in but winding down on is a fundraiser for one of our local schools. I have been making tote bags for their fundraiser which is tomorrow night! 25% of the selling price will be going to the school. The bags cost only 10.00, such a deal!!! They are all embroidered, lined and made well to be going through the wash and what not. They are all pretty darn cool if I do say so myself!!

Along with all the above projects, I also have been working 5 nights per week and dealing with day to day issues with the kids. My husband has been fantastic throughout this and continues to be one of the good guys!!

Well that's abougt all for now. Tonite I am off of work and my husband has bowling, so I will be going to the bowling alley with him for some social time and uninterupted knitting time!!! Ahh the little joys in life!!!

Until next time....

It all begins today...

Hi Everyone,

Well, I have finally made it to the virtule world. I have started my own blog...hard to believe I know, but hey, evey one has to move on sometime.

I should probably tell you a bit about me. I love to do all kinds of crafts and have recently, in the last year or so, discovered knitting. I have been knitting non stop for the last few months and have found this to be a very relaxing hobby. I am in the process of making several holiday gift sets for my girls and neices.

I also love to sew and do machine embroidery. I am in the middle of a fundraiser for a local school, my first fundraiser, and am loving it. They have ordered approximately 50 tote bags and I am approximately 25% done at this time. I love to do craft shows and have done a few this past year. I didn't do as well monitarily as I would have liked, but hey, I gotta start somewhere.

I have 5 children ages 17, 15, 15, 14, and 12. I have 3 dogs, 2 labs and a sheltie. I also have 3 cats, 1 domestic short hair and 2 manx. I have a very understanding husband and he is also extremely tolerante and wonderful.

I am in the process of working toward my Associates degree in Psychology and then onto my BA in psych. I am planning on being a school counselor when I am done. I really love working with kids.

That's about it for now. I will be posting more later. I hope anyone who wants to add to my blog feels free too. I would love for this to be a fun place to be and a great way to meet new people.

Until next time.
